Mr and Mrs Smith

It was a blast (yes, literally) working with the crew at Assembly on shots for the Amazon Prime reboot of Mr. & Mrs. Smith. My first task was to model, rig, and hand-animate a house explosion—no simulation involved. That was a first for me, and a fun challenge in controlled destruction. The RBD and pyro simulations were handled by FX TD François Duchesneau, with tracking and scene blockout by Adam Stockholm, and final compositing by the Assembly team. I also set up the initial particle system for wet road spray in a car chase sequence. Tracking, modeling, and compositing for that sequence were completed by Assembly.
